The Régie Ligne d'Azur

The Régie Ligne d'Azur (RLA) is the public transport authority of the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolitan Area.
RLA is an industrial and commercial public establishment, created by the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolitan Area in 2013.
RLA's mission is to operate, market, and develop regular urban transport services, including Lignes d'Azur, as well as transport services for people with reduced mobility, Mobil'Azur, within the 51 municipalities of the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolitan Area. The authority is also responsible for maintaining the network's infrastructure.
In 2022, more than 100 million trips were made on the Lignes d'Azur network.
The network consists of 3 tram lines and nearly 100 bus routes.

The Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolitan Area, the Mobility Authority, defines the missions of RLA, the development and investment policy for transport. It also sets the objectives and resources allocated to the Régie within the framework of a public service contract.
A first public service contract was established for the period 2013-2018. The current contract covers the period from 2019 to 2026.
The service contract outlines the quality and performance objectives for the network, as well as the conditions for the control of the Régie by the Mobility Authority (AOM): service quality and control of public spending.

RLA is governed by a board of directors composed of 21 members:

• 15 members from the deliberative body of the metropolitan area
• 2 qualified individuals chosen for their expertise
• 4 representatives from the Régie staff

The deliberation No. 1.1 of the metropolitan council on September 11, 2023, appointed the new members of the board of directors.
During the meeting on October 2, 2023, the RLA board elected its president and two vice presidents for a 3-year term.
